Wonton Filling

Method

Wonton Preparation

1

Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp, finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

2

Prepare Wontons

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the shrimp filling in the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold over to create a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Optionally, you can bring the two opposite corners together and pinch to form a pouch. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Cooking

3

Boil or Steam Wontons

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully drop the wontons into the boiling water in batches. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until they float to the top and are cooked through. Alternatively, you can steam them using a steamer basket for about 6-8 minutes.

4

Prepare Thai Chili Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the Thai chili sauce with lime juice and chopped cilantro. Stir well to combine.

Serving

5

Serve Wontons

Remove the cooked wontons from the pot or steamer and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle or serve with the prepared Thai chili sauce on the side for dipping.
