Method

Filling Preparation

1

Prepare the Fruit

Wash and peel (if necessary) the fresh seasonal fruit, then cut them into bite-sized pieces.

2

Mix Filling Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cut fruit with granulated sugar, flour, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir gently until the fruit is well coated. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.

Topping Preparation

3

Combine Dry Ingredients

In another mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

4

Add Wet Ingredients

Pour in the milk and melted butter into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.

5

Spread Topping

Spoon the batter over the fruit filling in the baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Baking

6

Bake the Cobbler

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the cobbler for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

7

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the cobbler from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. This can be served warm or at room temperature, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
