Method

Tacos

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to package instructions, typically adding a little water and simmering for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Warm the Tortillas

In a separate skillet or on a griddle, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tacos

Place the seasoned beef in the warmed tortillas and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños.

Tortilla Chips

  1. 5

    Cut the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into sixths to create chip shapes.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Chips

Fry the tortilla pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Dips

  1. 8

    Prepare Guacamole

In a mixing bowl, mash ripe avocados and mix with lime juice, salt, and diced onions until smooth.

  2. 9

    Prepare Salsa

Combine diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt in a bowl and mix well.

  3. 10

    Prepare Queso Dip

In a saucepan, melt cheese and mix with diced jalapeños and a splash of milk until smooth.

Salsas

  1. 11

    Mix Salsa Ingredients

In a bowl, combine fresh cilantro, lime juice, finely chopped red onion, and salt. Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
