Base Ingredients
Method
Preparation of the Cream
- 1
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, egg yolks, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip together until smooth and creamy.
- 2
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Coffee Preparation
- 3
Brew Coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee (200 ml) and let it cool slightly. If using coffee liqueur, stir it into the coffee once cooled.
Assembly
- 4
Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not overly soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
- 5
Layer the Cream
Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.
- 6
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the cream, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream. Smooth the top layer.
- 7
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to set.
Serving
- 8
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
- 9
Slice and Serve
Cut into squares or scoop out portions and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious homemade tiramisu!
