Garlic Butter

Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the sirloin steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over high heat. Once hot, place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes.

Fries

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin sticks (about 1/4 inch thick).

  2. 5

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain and pat dry the soaked potatoes, then fry in batches for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while hot.

Garlic Butter

  1. 7

    Make the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.

  2. 8

    Finish the Garlic Butter

Stir in chopped parsley and a pinch of salt into the melted garlic butter. Set aside to cool slightly.
