Jalapeño Preparation

Breading

Method

Jalapeño Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Wash the jalapeño peppers under cold water. Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes using a spoon or knife. Set aside.

Stuffing

  1. 2

    Make the Stuffing

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cooked bacon (finely chopped), shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well combined.

  2. 3

    Stuff the Jalapeños

Using a spoon or piping bag, generously fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese and bacon mixture, pressing down to ensure they are well packed.

Breading

  1. 4

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three separate bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.

  2. 5

    Bread the Jalapeños

Carefully dip each stuffed jalapeño half into the flour, coating it completely. Shake off excess flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each pepper is evenly coated.

Frying

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Fry the Jalapeños

Carefully add the breaded jalapeño poppers to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Serve the jalapeño poppers warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
