Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any outer leaves that are wilted. Cut the sprouts in half from top to bottom.

  2. 2

    Slice the Shallots

Peel and thinly slice the shallots.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Shallots

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced shallots and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

    Caramelize the Brussels Sprouts

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the halved Brussels sprouts, cut side down. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

  5. 5

    Combine and Finish

Add the sautéed shallots back to the skillet with the Brussels sprouts. Drizzle in the balsamic vinegar and honey. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and coated in the sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Transfer the caramelized Brussels sprouts and shallots to a serving dish and enjoy warm.
