Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Remove the rib eye steak from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Seasoning

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Generously season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Searing the Steak

In a large skillet or grill pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the rib eye steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.

  4. 4

    Flipping the Steak

Turn the steak over using tongs. Add the butter, garlic cloves, and rosemary to the pan.

  5. 5

    Basting

As the steak cooks, tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the steak with the melted butter and juices for additional flavor. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Resting

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serving

Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
