Preparation of Salad

Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the romaine lettuce and mixed greens under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean towel. Chop the romaine into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl. Add the mixed greens to the bowl.

Prepare the Eggs
Peel the hard-boiled eggs and chop them into small pieces. Set aside.

Chop the Vegetables
Dice the tomato and cucumber into small pieces. Thinly slice the red onion. Add all the chopped vegetables to the salad bowl along with the croutons and crumbled bacon.
Preparation of Ranch Dressing

Mix the Dressing Ingredients
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Whisk together until smooth.

Add Seasonings
Add the dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the dressing mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Finish with Chives
Finally, fold in the chopped fresh chives into the dressing. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assemble the Salad

Combine and Serve
Drizzle the house made ranch dressing over the salad ingredients in the bowl. Toss gently to combine all ingredients. Serve immediately as a refreshing side salad or main dish.
