Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Waffle Maker

Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  5. 5

    Cook Waffles

Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle maker, using about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter per waffle (depending on your waffle maker size). Cook until golden brown and crisp, about 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Repeat Cooking

Repeat the process until all the batter is used, making 3 Belgian waffles (12 pieces total).

Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Strawberries

Wash and slice the strawberries. Set aside for serving.

  2. 8

    Warm Nutella

If desired, warm the Nutella slightly in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to make it easier to spread.

  3. 9

    Whip Cream

If using heavy cream, whip it until soft peaks form, or use pre-made whipped cream for convenience.

  4. 10

    Gather Toppings

Prepare your serving area with bowls of Nutella, whipped cream, maple syrup, sliced strawberries, and sprinkles.
