Dough Preparation
1. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
2. Add Wet Ingredients
Add the butter, milk, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
Filling Preparation
4. Sauté Onions and Garlic
In a medium skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
5. Add Spinach
Add the cooked and chopped spinach to the skillet. Stir well to combine and cook for another minute.
6. Mix in Cheese and Season
Remove the skillet from heat, and mix in the grated cheese and black pepper until well combined.
Assembly and Baking
7. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
8. Roll Out the Dough
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into squares or circles.
9. Fill the Bites
Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough piece. Fold over and seal the edges with a fork.
10. Prepare for Baking
Place the filled bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
11. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
12. Cool and Serve
