Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it reaches the desired temperature for baking the cakes.

Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
Once the chocolate mixture has cooled slightly, add the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until combined. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just incorporated.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

Allow the cakes to cool for 1-2 minutes before carefully running a knife around the edges and inverting onto individual plates.
