Method

Preparing the Brownie Batter

  1. 1

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix in Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted butter. Whisk until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until mixed thoroughly.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed in the batter.

Baking the Brownies

  1. 7

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.

  2. 8

    Pour Batter and Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  3. 9

    Cool and Cut

Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, lift them out using the parchment paper (if used) and let them cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Serving the Brownies

  1. 10

    Serve with Ice Cream

Cut the brownies into squares. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or on the side.
