Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Begin by seasoning the sirloin steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Breading the Steak

Set up a breading station with one plate containing flour, one bowl with beaten eggs and milk, and another plate with flour. Dip each steak first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour, coating thoroughly.

  3. 3

    Fry the Steak

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Gravy

In the same skillet, remove excess oil, leaving about 2 tablespoons. Add the country sausage and cook until browned. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine.

  5. 5

    Make the Gravy

Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried steak topped with the sausage gravy, alongside a generous serving of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
