Shrimp Po' Boy Ingredients

Method

Shrimp Po' Boy Directions

1

Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.

2

Fry the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded shrimp in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

3

Make the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine.

4

Prepare the Remoulade

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, paprika, and cayenne pepper to create the spicy remoulade sauce.

5

Assemble the Sandwich

Toast the hoagie rolls. Spread a layer of spicy remoulade on the inside of each roll. Add a generous portion of coleslaw and top with the fried shrimp. Serve immediately.
