Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Rub the pork ribs with salt and black pepper on both sides. Place them in a baking dish and cover tightly with aluminum foil.

  2. 2

    Bake the Ribs

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours, until they are tender.

  3. 3

    Make the Guava Sauce

In a saucepan, combine guava paste, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, lime juice, and red chili flakes. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the guava paste has melted and the sauce is well combined. Allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and discard the foil. Brush the guava sauce generously over the ribs. Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and return the ribs to the oven.

  5. 5

    Finish Cooking

Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting with more guava sauce halfway through, until the ribs are caramelized and sticky.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from oven, let rest for a few minutes, then cut into portions and serve with extra guava sauce on the side.
