Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Add Tomatoes
Pour in the canned whole tomatoes (including juices) and crush them with a wooden spoon. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 4
Season the Sauce
Stir in the torn fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 5
Combine Spaghetti and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce and toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- 6
Serve
Plate the spaghetti pomodoro and top with grated parmesan cheese and extra basil if desired.
