Cinnamon Bun Ingredients

Method

Cinnamon Bun Directions

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3

Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

4

Roll the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll out into a large rectangle (about 16x24 inches). Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly.

5

Shape the Buns

Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.

6

Bake the Buns

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

7

Make the Cream Cheese Glaze

In a medium bowl, beat together room temperature cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.

8

Glaze the Buns

Once the buns have cooled slightly, drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the top and serve warm.
