Cooking the Wheat Berries

Rinse the Wheat Berries
Rinse 1 cup of wheat berries under cold running water to remove any debris. Drain well.

Boil Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Cook the Wheat Berries
Once the water is boiling, add the rinsed wheat berries. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let simmer for 45-60 minutes or until the wheat berries are tender.

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Spread Wheat Berries
Spread the cooked wheat berries evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Add Olive Oil and Seasoning
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the wheat berries and sprinkle with 0.5 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of pepper, and 1 tablespoon of your choice of herbs. Mix well to coat.

Toast in Oven
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast for 15-20 minutes, or until the wheat berries are golden and crispy, stirring halfway through for even toasting.
