1. Cook the bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until they are crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
2. Prepare the lettuce
While the bacon is cooking, wash and dry the romaine lettuce. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces, or leave them whole if preferred.
3. Toast the bread
In the same skillet or a toaster, lightly toast the slices of whole wheat sandwich bread until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
4. Assemble the sandwich
Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one slice of toasted bread. Layer with smoked turkey, crispy bacon, and romaine lettuce. Spread the remaining tablespoon of mayonnaise on the second slice of bread and place it on top to complete the sandwich.
5. Slice and serve
Using a sharp knife, slice the sandwich in half diagonally. Serve immediately and enjoy your Junior Turkey Club!
