Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill the Glass

Begin by chilling a coupe or martini glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the cocktail.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass filled with ice, add 2 oz of Basil Hayden's Dark Rye and 1 oz of Carpano Antica.

  3. 3

    Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters to the mixing glass.

  4. 4

    Stir

Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds. This will chill and dilute the drink appropriately.

Finishing Touch

  1. 5

    Strain and Serve

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass. Using a strainer, carefully pour the mixed cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass.

  2. 6

    Garnish

Garnish the drink with a maraschino cherry dropped into the glass, and express the oils from an orange peel over the drink before placing it on the rim.
