Coffee Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Coffee and Water

In a large pitcher or jar, combine the coarsely ground coffee and cold water. Stir gently to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated.

  2. 2

    Steeping

Cover the pitcher or jar and let the mixture steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours. The longer you steep, the stronger the coffee flavor will be.

Filtering

  1. 3

    Filter the Coffee

After steeping, place a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter over a clean pitcher or container. Slowly pour the coffee mixture through the filter to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid.

  2. 4

    Discard Grounds

Once all the liquid has been filtered, discard the coffee grounds. You should have a smooth, cold brew concentrate.

Serving

  1. 5

    Dilute as Desired

To serve, dilute the cold brew concentrate with water, milk, or a milk alternative to your taste preference. A common ratio is 1 part coffee to 1 part water or milk.

  2. 6

    Add Flavorings (Optional)

If desired, stir in vanilla extract and sweetener to taste. Adjust according to your personal preference.

  3. 7

    Serve Chilled

Serve the cold press black coffee over ice and enjoy it chilled for a refreshing beverage.
