Miso Soup Ingredients
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Dashi Stock
In a saucepan, heat the dashi stock over medium heat until it simmers.
- 2
Rehydrate the Seaweed
While the stock is warming, soak the dried wakame seaweed in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes, then drain and chop into small pieces.
- 3
Prepare the Tofu
Cut the firm tofu into small cubes.
- 4
Mix Miso Paste
Once the dashi stock is simmering, take a ladleful of the hot stock and mix it with the miso paste in a small bowl until smooth. This helps to dissolve the miso.
- 5
Combine Ingredients
Add the miso mixture back into the saucepan with the dashi stock. Stir gently to combine.
- 6
Add Tofu and Seaweed
Add the tofu cubes and rehydrated wakame to the soup. Let it heat through for about 2-3 minutes.
- 7
Season the Soup
Taste the soup and add soy sauce and sesame oil as desired for extra flavor.
- 8
Serve
Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
