Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Nuts
In a food processor, pulse the walnuts and pistachios until finely chopped. Be careful not to over-process them into a paste.

Mix Nut Filling
In a bowl, combine the chopped nuts, sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until well combined.

Melt the Butter
Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat. Keep it warm until ready to use.
Assembling the Baklava

Add Nut Filling
Spread half of the nut filling evenly over the layered filo pastry.

Continue Layering
Layer 4 more sheets of filo, brushing each with butter. Then spread the remaining nut filling over the top.

Cut the Baklava
Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes before baking.
Baking

Bake the Baklava
Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crisp.

Pour Syrup Over Baklava
Once the baklava is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot honey syrup evenly over the baklava. Allow it to soak in and cool for several hours before serving.
