Directions

1

Cook the Bacon

In a large pot over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pot.

2

Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot, add chopped onion and celery. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

3

Add Potatoes and Flour

Stir in the diced potatoes and flour, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.

4

Add Broth and Seasonings

Slowly add the chicken broth, stirring to combine. Add the thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

5

Cook the Chowder

Let the chowder simmer for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

6

Add Clams and Cream

Stir in the chopped clams and heavy cream. Cook for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.

7

Serve

Remove the bay leaf, adjust seasoning if necessary, and serve hot, garnished with crispy bacon.
