Fried Plantains Ingredients
Method
Fried Plantains Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Plantains
Peel the ripe plantains and slice them diagonally into about 1-inch thick pieces.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
- 3
Fry the Plantains
Carefully add the sliced plantains to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.
- 4
Drain and Season
Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the plantains from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt and any optional seasonings like garlic or chili powder to taste.
- 5
Serve
Serve the fried plantains warm as a side dish or snack.
