Preparation Directions

   Heat the Milk

   In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it is warm, but not boiling.

   Mix Dry Ingredients

   In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.

   Combine Ingredients

   Once the milk is warm, add the dry mixture to the saucepan and whisk until fully combined and smooth.

   Add Vanilla

   Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

   Serve

   Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.
