In a large pot, heat the palm oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

Add Groundnut Paste
Stir in the groundnut paste (peanut butter) and cook for another 5 minutes, mixing well to combine with the oil and onions.

Incorporate Liquids
Gradually add the water and vegetable broth (if using), stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Add salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to the mixture. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
