Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Filling

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned. Stir in the diced bell pepper, sliced olives, and chopped hard-boiled eggs. Season with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Dough

Roll out your pastry dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut out circles using a large cookie cutter or a bowl.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Pastels

Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pastels

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the assembled pastels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
