Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients and chop the onion, mince the garlic and ginger.

  2. 2

    Cook the Base

In a large pot, heat the palm oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Then add the minced garlic and ginger and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Dried Okra

Stir in the dried okra and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing it to soften and incorporate with the base.

  4. 4

    Add Broth and Season

Pour in the chicken or beef broth and stir well. Season with salt, black pepper, and add the whole Scotch bonnet pepper and seasoning cube if using.

  5. 5

    Cook the Protein

Add the tilapia fillets (or your choice of protein) to the pot. Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the Scotch bonnet pepper if used. Serve hot, with a side of rice or fufu if desired.
