Fried Fish Ingredients

Method

Fried Fish Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Egg Wash

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Coat the Fish

Dip each fish fillet into the egg wash, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture to coat evenly. Place coated fillets on a tray.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, heavy-bottomed skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Fish

Working in batches, carefully place the coated fish fillets into the hot oil. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried fish hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
