Ingredients for Memphis Slyders
Method
Directions for Memphis Slyders
- 1
Prepare the Pork Carnitas
In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder, diced onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender. Shred the pork with two forks and mix in some of the cooking liquid to keep it moist.
- 2
Make the BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 3
Prepare the Slaw
Thinly slice the cabbage and grate the carrot. In a large bowl, combine with mayonnaise and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 4
Make House Made Pickles
Slice pickling cucumbers and place them in a jar. In a small saucepan, bring water, sugar, and salt to a boil. Pour the solution over the cucumbers and let them sit for at least 1 hour before using.
- 5
Assemble the Slyders
On each slider bun, layer a generous portion of pork carnitas, drizzle with BBQ sauce, top with slaw, and add a slice of pickles. Serve immediately.
