Method
Preparation
- 1
Cut the Mozzarella
Take the mozzarella cheese and cut it into sticks approximately 1 cm thick and 7 cm long. Ensure the pieces are uniform for even cooking.
- 2
Prepare the Breading Stations
Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Breading
- 3
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Dip each mozzarella stick first into the flour, ensuring it's coated evenly. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs. Repeat this process for all mozzarella sticks.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F). You can test the oil's readiness by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it bubbles and browns quickly, it's ready.
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 6
Serve
Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
