Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Drain and Rinse Chickpeas

Open the can of chickpeas, pour them into a colander, and rinse them under cold water. Allow them to drain thoroughly.

  2. 2

    Prepare Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and set them aside.

  3. 3

    Measure Ingredients

Measure out the tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water in preparation for blending.

Blending

  1. 4

    Add Ingredients to Blender

In a food processor or blender, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  2. 5

    Blend Until Smooth

Blend the mixture on high speed until it is smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add a bit more water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Serving

  1. 6

    Transfer to Serving Bowl

Once blended, transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.

  2. 7

    Garnish (Optional)

If desired, sprinkle paprika and chopped parsley on top and drizzle with olive oil before serving.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the hummus with pita bread, vegetable sticks, or crackers.
