Preparation of Bread

Slice the Baguette
Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Brush with Olive Oil
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each side lightly with olive oil.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Toast the baguette slices in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Prepare the Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves finely and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Mince the Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

Season the Mixture
Add salt and black pepper to the mixture, and toss everything together gently until well combined.
Assembly

Top the Toasted Bread
Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each slice.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
