Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the fettuccine.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the halal beef bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels.

  2. 3

    Sauté the Onion and Garlic

In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Mince the garlic and add it to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 4

    Prepare the Cream Sauce

Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well, then add the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach desired consistency.

  4. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Chop the crispy beef bacon and add it back to the skillet with the sauce. Season with black pepper and stir to combine.

Final Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet with the carbonara sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Plate the fettuccine carbonara and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
