Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.

  2. 2

    Season the Pork

Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it's well coated. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate overnight for best flavor.

  3. 3

    Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and water. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, using two forks, shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.

  5. 5

    Add BBQ Sauce

Mix the shredded pork with BBQ sauce to your taste. Serve on buns or as desired.
