Burger Preparation
Form the Patties
In a bowl, take ½ pound of ground American Angus beef and divide it into two equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick. Avoid overworking the meat.
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of either American, Vermont Cheddar, or Swiss cheese on each patty. Cover to allow the cheese to melt.
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assemble the Burger
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by a slice of tomato, a slice of onion, and 3 slices of pickles.
Add the Patty
Carefully place the cheese-covered patty on top of the layered vegetables.
Complete the Burger
Top with the other half of the toasted bun. Press down gently to hold everything in place.
Prepare the Fries
Cook the Fries
Prepare your fries according to package instructions, either by baking or frying until golden and crispy.
Serve
Once cooked, serve the fries on the side of the assembled cheeseburger.
