Method

Grits Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Grits

Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of Adluh yellow grits and 1 tsp of salt. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Cook Grits

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grits are thick and creamy.

  4. 4

    Add Butter

Once cooked, stir in 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and well incorporated. Remove from heat.

Pimento Cheese Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Cheese Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 8 oz of softened cream cheese, and the contents of a 4 oz jar of diced pimentos.

  2. 6

    Add Seasoning

Add 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of onion powder, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 1 tsp of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.

  3. 7

    Blend Mixture

Using a hand mixer or a spatula, mix all the ingredients until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Together

To serve, spoon the creamy grits onto plates and top with a generous portion of the pimento cheese mixture, allowing it to melt slightly into the warm grits.
