Method

Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until fully blended.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir with a spatula or whisk until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Add Optional Ingredients

If using, fold in the blueberries or chocolate chips into the batter gently.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 5

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.

  2. 6

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set.

  3. 7

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Carefully flip the pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Hot

Stack the pancakes on a plate and serve immediately with your choice of toppings such as maple syrup, powdered sugar, and butter.
