Method

Prepare Tzatziki Sauce

1

Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, and salt. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prepare Nashville Hot Oil

2

Heat Oil

In a small saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Stir to combine and set aside.

Fry Calamari and Capers

3

Bread Calamari

Soak calamari rings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, and black pepper. Dredge soaked calamari in the flour mixture.

4

Fry Calamari

In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the calamari in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Fry Capers and Onion

In the same oil, add the capers and sliced red onion. Fry until the capers are crispy and the onion is charred, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Plate and Serve

Serve the crispy calamari topped with fried capers and red onions, alongside the tzatziki sauce and Nashville hot oil. Garnish with charred lemon halves.
