Preparation Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the chicken breasts and BBQ sauce. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the maple peppered bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 3
Grill the Chicken
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill each breast for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each chicken breast to melt.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the chicken is cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwiches
Spread spicy mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Place the grilled chicken breast with melted cheddar on top, followed by two slices of crispy bacon and a generous amount of onion strings. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately with your favorite side dish.
