Instructions for Grilled Sourdough Crab Melt

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked crab meat, Appenzeller Swiss cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread the crab mixture evenly onto two slices of sourdough bread. Top with the remaining slices of sourdough to create sandwiches.

  3. 3

    Grill the Sandwiches

In a skillet or griddle, melt the butter over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  4. 4

    Serve

Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot alongside brewpub fries and Alaska seafood chowder for dipping.
