Bratwurst and Sauce

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bratwurst

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood smoked bratwurst until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

Make the Smoked Curry Ketchup Sauce

In the same skillet, add the Alaska 8 Star Lager and bring it to a simmer. Stir in ketchup, curry powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  3. 3

    Combine and Serve

Return the bratwurst to the skillet, ensuring they are coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through. Serve the bratwurst on a bed of brewpub fries, drizzled with any remaining sauce.
