Steak and Butter

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Garlic Herb Butter

In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and chopped thyme. Mix until well combined and set aside.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the 14oz New York Strip Steak generously with 49er rub on both sides. Allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (135°F for medium-rare).

  4. 4

    Add the Garlic Herb Butter

During the last minute of grilling, top the steak with a generous spoonful of the garlic herb butter, allowing it to melt over the steak.

  5. 5

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-7 minutes before slicing. Serve with smashed potatoes on the side.
