Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix with your hands until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If you are adding cheese, place the slices on the patties during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Add the Patty

Place the cooked patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun.

  3. 8

    Add Toppings

Layer the lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced onion, pickles, and any sauces (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise) on top of the patty.

  4. 9

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently. Your BYOB is ready to serve!
