Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (135°F for medium-rare).

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Salad Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Greens

In a large salad bowl, add the mixed greens as the base.

  2. 5

    Add Toppings

Thinly slice the red onion and scatter it over the mixed greens. Add the bleu cheese crumbles and candied walnuts on top.

  3. 6

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips and place it over the salad.

Final Touch

  1. 7

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad, adjusting the amount to your taste. Toss gently to combine.
