Preparation of Blackened Shrimp
- 1
Make the Spice Mixture
In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- 2
Season the Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil and the prepared spice mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- 3
Cook the Shrimp
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are opaque and slightly charred. Remove from heat.
Assembly of Tacos
- 4
Warm the Tortillas
In a separate dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable.
- 5
Assemble the Tacos
On each tortilla, layer a portion of the blackened shrimp, followed by a sprinkle of shredded Monterey Jack cheese, a scoop of pico de gallo, and a handful of shredded cabbage.
- 6
Drizzle Aioli
Top the assembled tacos with a generous drizzle of smoked chile aioli.
- 7

Serve the tacos warm with lime wedges on the side for added flavor.
