Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Make the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, blackening seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Once hot, place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until a good crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Top each with a blackened patty, crispy bacon strips, and a generous amount of bleu cheese.

  3. 8

    Finish the Burger

Cover with the top half of the bun and press down gently. Serve immediately.
