Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the sirloin steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 2

    Toast the Focaccia

While the steak is resting, slice the focaccia loaf in half horizontally. Place it under a broiler on low for 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread garlic aioli on the bottom half of the toasted focaccia. Layer sliced steak on top, followed by smoked cheddar cheese, arugula, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Top with the other half of the focaccia.

  4. 4

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
